For those of you who are after buying one for yourself, Technivorm do offer refurbs at their site for about a hundred off retail. They have only a one year warranty, but given how bulletproof these machines tend to be, its not a bad buy at all!
I hardly drink coffee anymore and I still love my Moccamaster, it's terrific.
It's the standard good old coffee machine you'd find here in the NL at a football club or pastory. Any place that serves a lot of people coffee.

fwiw it's so beautifully simple and dumb, you can put it on any kind of timer/smart outlet to make it an 'automated' coffee maker.
