My friend Matt had a stroke.

This is from the other day and he's doing much better today. His prognosis is good but there's a long, long road ahead.

Just goes to show, you really never know....

Vibes & Love & Power to Matt and Bria.

"On days like this, it’s hard to know exactly what to say.
I suspect many of you have already seen Bria's post, but for those that haven’t, I have offered to help spread some dreadful news about my dear friend, brother, and fellow Joy Thief, Matthew Lee Clark.
Earlier this week, Matt suffered a massive stroke at the place in Texas. It hemorrhaged, and upon arrival at the hospital, he underwent immediate emergency neurosurgery to remove part of his skull to relieve the building pressure on his brain. They are continuing to drain the blood around his brain, but as they’ve been doing that, he’s been fighting bouts of severely high blood pressure, fevers, and most recently, fluid in his lungs. It is my understanding that he has been fairly unresponsive, and that he is (so far, at least) paralyzed on his left side.
Since the news went public yesterday, I have heard from many of you, asking for updates on his condition, and what you can do to help. And while I don’t have those answers for you at this point in time, I have been doing my very best to keep in touch with Bria, in order to get updates. And when the time comes when I DO have more information, I will continue to assist her in delivering that information to you.
For now, I ask that you please keep Matt in your thoughts, and send him all the positivity you can muster. He truly needs it.
It’s a rather helpless feeling watching these events roll out from 1200 miles away, so I want to offer a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been reaching out. I am doing my best to touch base with everyone who has called and written. If I haven’t responded to you yet, please understand that I will…there’s just a lot going on at the moment.
Love to you-
D"

Wow, that's a lot.
I'm not going to like coz what's to like.
Hoping for a recovery that is short, sharp and satisfactory.
Best wishes to you Brad.

@jer For sure, I appreciate it. Just trying to send some good vibes his way. Matt is an incredible dude. Been through a lot already. We were in a band together in HS and he actually went off and became a rock star for a hot minute; https://youtu.be/VUHjS7xQVzg

Man I hate to hear this about anyone, especially so young, and clearly beloved. Sending healing vibes for a big rebound.

Good friend of mine had a stroke at 54 about 8 months ago and - lucky guy - he's been back at it for a while with a new car, new sobriety, 50 pounds less body weight and he's crushing it with his new podcast production studio. As harsh as Matt's experience has been, may he have an even more successful recovery.
