Those guys had several bands in the ten years before this album, and it is not everyone who can keep going......it really messes with people's heads to be getting somewhere with their songs and band, good gigs, label interest.... and then it all comes to nothing.
I enjoy the Strong Songs podcast because the host delves into the production techniques and the music theory of the subject material while remaining accessible to all listeners. I recently listened to his episode about Just What I Needed from last year and recommend it:
