Lamp on Table

Sculpture of a drafting-type lamp, attached to a able. It looks like a 2D comic book illustration, but is an actual 3D sculpture. The lamp has a cone of light shining down from it on to the center of the table. The flatness of the image creates an Escher-like effect due to the fact that the legs of the table clearly have some perspective due to needing to hold up the table & lamp, which appear to be flat.

I always feel like Lichtenstein is a bit duff compared to many of the other pop artists, when you compare paintings. But boy some of the sculptures absolutely knock it out of the park

@poorusher the revelation of how much of a thief/appropriator of the original comic art that he used as his work also dulls their shine tremendously. I wondered how much of this look was also borrowed, but give it more merit based on its awesome conversion into a physical object

CBS Evening News did a bit on the installation of his art installed in Grand Central Station.
