Greetings From Las Cruces, NM

I spent the last 5 days riding through the desert around Las Cruces, NM. Lovely country and a refreshing bit of sun after a long Northern Rockies winter. I'm wildly sunburnt and sad to have to head home tomorrow morning, back to the snow, back to the dismaying chaos of the next four plus years.
As an add on: I have serious mixed feelings about going on vacation with the world such as it is. I guess I can try and console myself that we have to take care of ourselves, and aside from doing what I can to support/protect my family, I'm not sure what else to do yet.

@williwaw my thoughts exactly. I live right by Glacier NP and it seems like this might be a trainwreck of a year. No seasonal staff have been hired (one of my friends who maintains the water at a chalet had his posting yanked, for example). It has the possibility to crash our economy, which relies heavily on tourism, but I kinda think that's the idea.
"I'm not sure what else to do" Same here although I'm on a different content; Europe.
I'm not sure what to say. There are a lot of sensible people. Even in the US I'm sure.
We need to band together. Militarily, in trade deals...
Only the power of many will mean anything.
