Telephone/Art exchange box

A replica of a green UK telephone exchange box.

My friend made this. It's wooden and based on a copy of a UK telephone exchange box. It has been surreptitiously installed as part of a small art walk. Anyone can open the door and exchange something for the art pieces inside.

It is installed around the side of a little cafe called Yellow Bourbon, in Northampton. I assumed they were in on the piece as they are relatively well connected to some of the creatives in the town. But it was installed without their knowledge.

It will be interesting to see how long it stays up. The woodworker that made it did an amazing job adding a little texture to the fascia.

If you get any follow up reports on this and you're willing, please tag me in a comment. It will be interesting to hear how it gets engaged with... or if it gets engaged with. My estimate is if your friend hasn't told many people it may not get found at all. But if the secret spreads then a whole different scenario plays out.

@samh Will do! But you're right he's keeping it on the DL.

There's been the odd IG story and that's about it. I actually can't find anything else online at the moment. But hopefully there'll be some content at some point.
