The mission of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement organization is stated as, "Protect America through criminal investigations and enforcing immigration laws to preserve national security and public safety." I don't think there is an American out there that would disagree that protecting America is a good mission and especially protecting Americans for the sake of national security. The ICE organization however continues to overreach this mission and in doing so is harming Americans and harming individuals who should otherwise be protected by the due process of law. The killing of Renee Good by ICE agent Jonathan Ross provided the Federal Government an opportunity to de-escalate their operations but instead prompted further escalation. I’m calling on you, Senator Daines to stand up for human rights and the moral values you outwardly indicate are your standard and push for an appropriations bill that puts serious restrictions on ICE, ending all but it's most carefully targeted-raids. The Trump administration spent its first 100 days pretending to eliminate fraud, waste, and abuse, and then proceeded to bloat the ICE budget with exactly that; fraud, waste, and worst of all, physical human abuse.
If only Daines wasn't a pro-insurrectionist chud. What happened to our reasonable politicians? Pat Williams, Max Baucus. I guess I'll include Tester in there, even though he leaned in on the anti-Chinese racism angle to try and hold on this last election. /cry
