@thelonius by far my favorite piece is "Powerhouse" by Raymond Scott, used in WB cartoons whenever there is heavy machinery in operation.
@dreyfusslugado did you know that Rush pays royalties for using (I think without intent to steal, but infringing) part of "Powerhouse", in "La Villa Strangiato"?

@thelonius OK, I listened to it. Yup, it's pretty obvious. I can also understand why they might have thought it was public domain, given how often it appears in WB cartoons.
@dreyfusslugado supposedlythey were not aware they had lifted it from Saturday morning cartoons, and, when the estate took action it was after some sort of civil statute of limitations, but the band compensated them because they thought it was right to.
