LOL how many "The Edge" stations were there?

I listened to REMs "It's the End of the World as We Know It" on repeat for an entire eight hour work shift when this radio station was coming on the air.

In addendum and for the record however Rev 104 and Radio K were the supreme rulers of my life in the Twin Cities.

@dad Z104.5 The Edge was our main in Tulsa in high school. I believe it's still around.

IIRC, it was based heavily on Dallas's KDGE, which is now an adult contemporary station, sadly.

They sold everyone else the whole seat...

93.7 is now 93X, mostly heavy alternative rock

@samh I still have a Rev105 shirt in the closet somewhere

The Edge was no Rev105

(Though IIRC, some of the DJs ended up on The Edge...)

@ufez Yeah I was in Dallas in the 90's so that's one I remember.

@dad iirc "The Edge" was a Clear Channel program format. They ran "The Edge" formats in most of their major cities.

102.1 The Edge here in Toronto, not be confused with the Edge you could get from Buffalo at 133.3 (I think?)

I think about the old ladies saying "oh
no I've said too much" "I haven't said enough" every single time i hear that REM song for the last 30 years

I have a very worn out and long-used Rev105 keychain, @wjcstp. My favorite programming on there was Depth Probe with Kevin Cole.

@samh
In the late nineties, Cleveland had an amazing alternative station called 107.9, “The End” (due to its position at the far edge of the radio dial).

Clear Channel bought them out and planned to change the format to rap and hip hop.

The entire last week they were on the air they played “end of the world” on repeat. No commentary, no ads, just 168 hours of REM. I annoyed the hell out of my high school gym class with that one.
